Jack part two

Finally found some time to type up the arms, body & legs for Jack! Enjoy!

Body

Body – starting in light purple with 3mm hook

*Note: make the body before making the robe.

 

1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

2. increase in each stitch (12)

3. inc, inc, 3 sc, inc, inc, inc, 3 sc, inc (18)

4. (sc, inc* x 2, 3 sc, (sc, inc) x 3, 4 sc, inc (24)

5. (2 sc, inc) x 2, 3 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 3, 5 sc, inc (30)

6. (3 sc, inc) x 2, 3 sc, (3 sc, inc) x 3, 6 sc, inc (36)

7-10. sc in each stitch (36)

Change to dark purple & continue:

11-12. sc in each stitch (36)

13. 5 sc, dec, (10 sc, dec) x 2, 5 sc (33)

14. (9 sc, dec) x 3 (30)

15. sc in each stitch(30)

16. 4 sc, dec, (8 sc, dec) x 2, 4 sc (27)

17-18. sc in each stitch (27)

19. (7 sc, dec) x 3 (24)

20. sc in each stitch (24)

Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew to the head. Add stuffing to the body.

 

Robe

Starting in light purple with 3.5mm hook

*Note: make the body before making the robe.

 

1. chain 42. Join to the first stitch with a slip stitch to form a ring. Sc in the first stitch & each stitch around (42)

2. sc in each stitch (42)

Change colour to dark purple & continue:

3. 6 sc, dec, 12 sc, dec, 12 sc, dec, 6 sc (39)

Change colour to light purple & continue:

4. hdc in each stitch (39)

Change colour to dark purple & continue:

5. (11 sc, dec) x 3 (36)

Change colour to light purple & continue:

6. sc in each stitch (36)

Change colour to dark purple & continue:

7-8. sc in each stitch (36)

9. 5 sc, dec, 10 sc, dec, 10 sc, dec, 5 sc (33)

10. (9 sc, dec) x 3 (30)

11. sc in each stitch (30)

12. 4 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 4 sc (27)

13-14. sc in each stitch (27)

15. (7 sc, dec) x 3 (24)

16. sc in each stitch(24)

Do not fasten off. Leave the yarn attached.

Flip the robe inside out & weave in the ends (see picture)

Once the ends are weaved in, flip the robe right-side out again.

*Change colour to light purple.*

Next, pull the robe over top of the body.

17. in light purple: insert your hook through the first stitch of the robe & the first stitch on the body (the stitch to the left of the stitch that was fastened off). Sc around, going through the robe and then the body. Slip stitch to the first stitch (24)

Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew to the head.

 

arms

Make two – starting black with 3mm hook

1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

2. sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, sc (8)

3-5. sc in each stitch (8)

Change colour to dark purple & continue:

6-12. sc in each stitch (8)

13. sc around, chain one & turn (8)

14. dec, 2 sc, dec, chain one & turn (4)

15. 4 sc (4)

Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew to the body. Add stuffing to the arms.

 

Sleeves

Make two – starting in dark purple with 3mm hook

1. Start by leaving a tail to sew to round 6 of the arms & chain 9.
Starting in the second chain from the hook: sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc (12)

Change colour to light purple & continue:

2. chain one & turn, then sc 12 (12)

Fasten off.

 

right leg

Starting in black with 3mm hook

1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

2. increase in each stitch (12)

3. Working in the back loops only (just for this round): sc in each stitch (12)

4. 3 sc, dec, dec, dec, 3 sc (9)

5. sc in each stitch (9)

Change colour to light purple & continue:

6-8. sc in each stitch (9)

9. sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, sc (12)

10. sc in each stitch (12)

**Sc in the next two stitches, chain one & turn (note: this does not change the stitch count & you will still have stitches to work into when you turn)

11. sc, 4 hdc, sc (6)

Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew the leg to the body. Stuff the leg.

 

left leg

Starting in black with 3mm hook

1. Make 6 sc in a magic ring (6)

2. increase in each (12)

3. Working in the back loops only (just for this round): sc in each stitch (12)

4. 3 sc, dec, dec, dec, 3 sc (9)

5. sc in each stitch (9)

Change colour to light purple & continue:

6-8. sc in each stitch (9)

9. sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, sc (12)

10. sc in each stitch(12)

**slip stitch in the next 6 stitches, chain one & turn

11. sc, 4 hdc, sc (6)

Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew the leg to the body. Stuff the leg.





Assembly

·         Using the tail left at the beginning of each sleeve, sew the sleeve to round 6 of the arm. Next, sew the open ends of the sleeve together & weave in the ends.
Repeat this for the second arm.

·         Stuff the body & sew the body to the head.

·         Stuff the legs & sew the legs to the sides of the body. They should sit about 4 stitches a part, the bottom of each leg should sit between rounds 6&7 of the body. The half double crochets should sit on the outer side of the body.

·         Stuff the arms & sew them to the sides of the body about 8 stitches apart.
