Frequently Asked Questions

“Can you make ____ for me?” & other custom order questions:
Sometimes - it’s worth asking, but I’m not always feeling up to taking commissions.
Do you ship to (country)?
I only offer shipping to America & Canada. The price to ship to other countries with tracking way too expensive!
Why are the items you make not suitable for people with allergies to cats?
Sorry to hear you’re allergic! I have three Persian cats (super fluffy, long haired). Even though they're bathed often, they are still definitely NOT hypoallergenic. I've had to learn a lot about pet allergies (I'm sadly allergic to dogs) - & from what I've read, cat dander is “sticky”. Cat allergies generally also seem to be more severe than dog allergies (like some folks break out in hives). Though I make an honest effort to keep them away from my work, my concern is that their dander is already stuck to most of my yarn & may not be overly safe for someone with allergies.
Why are the items you make not suitable for kids?
I do my absolute best to make sure that everything I make is sturdy/won't fall apart - BUT kids can be pretty rough with toys. I personally wouldn't give a child anything that's crocheted because they could potentially pull it apart or rip pieces off (eyes, details, etc) which, at that point, would not be safe for them.

Patterns
Where is your pattern for ____?
I get asked this question waaay too often.
Short answer: Try looking on Ravelry first. If something isn’t listed, I have absolutely no plan to relist it. Please do not ask.
Long answer: a mix of things. During the pandemic, a lot of people took up crocheting as a hobby to pass time. While I think that’s absolutely great, unfortunately a lot of “ambitious beginners” were purchasing my harder/more advanced patterns that weren’t, by any means, meant for beginners. I was getting was getting far too many messages - think dozens a day - & at that point, it just stopped being worth it to me to keep them listed.
So! A while ago I started removing all of my harder/more advanced pattern, with the intention of “getting back to them someday” to make them easier/less complicated. BUT by that time, I’d ended up with a ton of copycats/people stealing my work & claiming it as their own. Sooooo, I stopped updating them & have since moved on to making my own completely original designs entirely.
Do you have a pattern for ____?
If something isn’t listed, I haven’t made it! Again, feel free to check Ravelry.
Can you write a pattern for ____?
Sadly, no. It takes me a while to write patterns - days/weeks/sometimes even months! A lot of folks don't seem to understand how much time & effort actually goes into it.
US or UK terms?
I live in the second best London (Canada) & all of my patterns are written in US terms!
Does this pattern come in (language)?
All of my patterns are available in English only.
Can I sell something I made from your pattern?
You can find my purchase policies here.
The pattern calls for (yarn brand/colour) but I can’t find (yarn brand/colour), can you help?
You don’t have to use the yarns suggested in an amigurumi pattern. My best advice for finding a substitute yarn is to just go out & look in the stores for a similar colour of yarn! Just make sure that it’s the same weight as the yarn listed in the pattern & you’ll be fine!
How do you resize amigurumi?
Find a larger yarn in whatever colour you plan on using & just make some magic rings using different hook sizes! You can use whatever size of hook makes the stitches tight enough so the stuffing doesn’t show through.
I need help with sewing.
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way that I’m able to help with sewing. The only way to really understand sewing any better is to practice, practice, practice!
I think this piece is labeled wrong! It says right leg, but it’s on my left??
I label pieces in patterns according to which side of the character’s body they’re on. So someone’s right arm would appear on your left, but it’s on the right side of them. That’s how I label pieces, as if the character is facing the same direction as you vs looking head on.
